Part of a studio assignment, topic: Hollywood style images. Unfortunatelly you cannot see the catch light in her eye in this one. It comes out nicely on the larger prints. So just put some white-out on your monitor where that catchlight would be.

Redwoods
Redwoods
Shooting Redwoods in sunlight is tricky because of the extremely high contrast. I didn't get any decent shots until I realized I could try doing some photoshop HDR magic. So here it is, my first ever HDR photo. Other photos from today include this spider: #1 and #2. More to come.

Took a weekend trip to Humboldt Redwoods State Park with some friends and shot this while driving through beautiful North California. I can't get enough of the golden hills, the Californian Oak and the bright blue sky. More photos from the trip to come.

Another home studio macro shot. And of course I forgot to check my camera settings and shot this (again) at ISO800. Fortunatelly monochrome is more forgiving to noise than color images.
I also have a few color street photos, this time taken from an unusual perspective: the 20th floor of my office building: #1, #2, and #3.

Taken in one of UCSF's biology labs. Check out all the colorful bottles! I wish I knew what they were there for... I would also like to add that I've been shooting a lot more chrome film for my classes these days, so the daily (digital) photo is suffering a little due to lack of time. But I am hoping to be able to scan in a few photos here and there and will post them here when I do.

Finally had some studio time again. Spent about 4 hours there, playing with all sorts of lights, a wind machine, and other goodies. Here's another photo from the studio.

Taken on Sansome at 4pm. I just keep coming back to this place, also because it's very close to my day job. I love the big white columns and the light in the late afternoon. Taken on the bus between London Heathrow and London Stansted airport. This photo sort of covers two days: I traveled to Europe and spent 29 hours to get from SF to Oslo, Norway. My camera was in my checked baggage, so this is the only photo I got from the time in transit.
