Urban Clutter

Urban Clutter

Taken at 7pm from 2nd street. Just after sunset I got this photo from the apartment window and I liked the way there were so many different elements competing for importance with each other.

This likely is much easier to appreciate in a larger version. I really like the idea behind this. I think the tones are pretty heavy across the board though... I think if you selectively use the tones (via dodging and burning) to highlight a specific portion I think this could be a tad stronger. One element I really like is in the foreground the person running... they have a perfect form & contrst against the freeway support behind them.

Thanks for the feedback. I actually purposely added more contrast in the background getting rid of a slight haze in order to have a visual connection with the leaves in the foreground. I did not expect much when I took this photo - I was quite busy that day - but when working on it in photoshop it turned into an interesting experiement.

And now I am curious to experiement more with this photo, so, please, if you have a particular area that you think should be highlighted / burnt more, let me know.
