Halfmoon

Halfmoon

Taken in Lassen National Park at 6:30pm. The area of the park we hiking in was completely burnt by a fire a year or so ago. There were many dead, bizzarre looking trees around. I spent the evening shooting photos of those trees. Other photos from the day: #1, #2, #3, and #4.

I like the stark nature of this image. I do think it would be stronger with more depth of field though. Perhaps shooting at f/16 or f/22 would give you the detail in the moon and the tree. With 1/1000th of a second exposure at f/8 I think you likely could have hand held the shot at f/16 or f/22. Your Lassen photos look quite nice. I'll have to look at them all during lunch.

I so like the pureness of this photo, especially that deep blue and the moon what is adding a "flavour" to the image.
